Mary works as a Social Worker today, though it took a lot of work to get here! Living with Bipolar and PTSD controlled much of her life for over 20 years. The mental health support community surrounded Mary and with years of therapy and medication management, Mary has stabilized and was drawn to go to school to be a Social Worker and help others just as she was helped. She now works full time as a mental health therapist and can professionally and personally relate to her clients. At one time, Mary's mental health was a liability and barrier; today, it is an asset to her and those she works with. Mental health diagnoses are not a dead end, but could be the beginning of a long and fulfilling life.
